Merchandising and Smuggling

Hi Balázs The day we phoned, Rolli and I shortly met. If you like it, I think it would be great to take your smuggling-subject for the whole show. It depends on you, ´cause it´s your story. First I just thought it´s a great subject, than I thought it´s great for you and I´m too far from that world, and than I thought this could already be a base, some-thing like research about smuggling. Means: from far another end than you do it, ´cause I wouldn´t head up at "ideas", like the watch-buttons. You know that´s not my way. But to look at it, at the surroundings, where does it happen, how, who? Abstractly I know which talents are required, I could talk about the gap between knowing and doing. Ofcause not literally. Smuggling as a profession for the poor and the evil. As a neccessity for one side and the never-ending wish to make money and power for the other side. This profession arises with the founding of a state. It is connected like a shadow to any political organization. The organization is used to protect the members against outsiders. This is ofcause the crucial point of the whole subject. If you examine the smuggled items you know a lot about the relation between two protection-systems. It´s a mirror, an object-oriented mirror of this relation. In communist times nearly everything you trans-ported from west to east was an item of smuggle. They were packed in socks and suspicious sweaters. It´s a subsystem, like criminality, it doesn´t hurt people, so it´s easier to abstract from morality and the victim is an institution. And the inevitably subsequent step is, that the human arms of the institution make the best profit on lowest risk on it. The wohle thing is human and you allways ask yourself why here and there, it does not happen. Why does it not happen? It´s a question of communication, the wish to be in the system, the wish to keep the system work (except fear to be caught). ............ I´ve no idea yet how I would approach it, first of all I want to know your opinion, cause I don´t like to start running,... I could understand it well, if it wasn´t good for you, before Istanbul. So please tell me soooon, if you don´t have time, you don´t need say much, just let me know! Rolli talked about lie. The connection of fairy-tale to lie. It introduces it´s truth to it´s own little sy-stem, the system of the story. I said that´s the way it works with truth: it´s allways dependent on it´s own system, it works in it´s system and you can´t say anything about it apart from that. Probably one system is conneted to a wider, in fairy-tales you´ve got the story and it lives in a social system, or historical etc. R. says "lies", for me this word is connected to a subjective perspective, in overall-view there´s no lie, there´s a world with millions of people liing, but they are true in their existence of being liars. A fairy-tale or a liar, are inevitable facts, means they are true. This difference is interesting: Rolli always creats his (love-) stories in this way: very subjective, in the moment I listen to him, I know the other side would tell a hardly recognizible variation of the same events. And on the same time I know Hellmuth would tell a more or less identic version to the version I tell. This non-private/ private subject (: smuggling) showed a strange coincidence. you can look at it from outside and inside. It would be an experiment for me, riscy in a way,.....
